Payment Policy

Three moments matter with a payment: before you press the button, the moment you press it, and everything that can happen afterwards. This page follows that order.

Before you pay

What we accept

Cards Visa, Mastercard, American Express (credit and debit)
Digital wallets Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal
Other PayPal

The methods shown at checkout are the ones available for your order and device. None carries a surcharge; we don't add processing or booking fees to any payment.

What the price includes. Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT at 20%. The price on the product page is the price at checkout. Delivery is free. If your order is dispatched from a fulfilment centre outside the United Kingdom, all import VAT and customs duties are paid by us before the parcel is released; you won't receive a "fee to pay" card or a customs charge. The total at checkout is the last number you'll see.

Discount codes are entered at checkout and can't be applied afterwards. One code per order unless the promotion says otherwise.

The moment you pay

When you're charged. When you place the order, not when we dispatch. Your order confirmation arrives by email within a few minutes; the order number at the top is the quickest way for us to find your order.

Where your card details go. From your browser to a PCI DSS-compliant payment provider over an encrypted connection (TLS). They never reach our servers. We receive a confirmation, the card type and the last four digits, and we'll never ask you to send card details by email.

Verification. Card payments are subject to Strong Customer Authentication where your bank requires it, which usually means confirming the purchase in your banking app. Occasionally a provider's fraud screening declines a legitimate order; if that happens, email us and a person will look at it.

After you pay

If the payment was declined. Nine times out of ten it's a mistake in the card number, expiry date or security code; an expired card or insufficient balance; a billing address that doesn't match the one your bank holds; a bank flag on an unusual transaction, which approving in your banking app usually clears; or online purchases switched off on the card. Check the details before trying again, and don't submit the same order several times. Each attempt can place a temporary hold on your account, which releases within 3 to 7 working days. If it still won't go through, email us.

If you were charged but got no confirmation. Check your spam or junk folder. If nothing has arrived after a couple of hours, email us the amount and the date and we'll trace the order.

If you see two charges, or one you don't recognise. A pending charge isn't necessarily a completed payment; failed attempts often leave a temporary authorisation that disappears within a few working days. If you believe you've been charged twice, send your name, the order number if you have it, the date and amount of each charge, and a screenshot with card details covered. We can identify a transaction within one working day, which is far quicker than a chargeback through your bank, and we'll put it right.

If you're owed a refund. Refunds go back to the payment method used for the original order; we can't refund to a different card or account. We issue them within 7 working days of the goods reaching us, and in any event within the 14 days the law allows; your bank usually needs 3 to 5 working days to show the credit. The full process is in our Returns & Refunds Policy.

Changes to this page

We update this page when we add or remove payment methods or when the law changes. The version in force when you placed your order is the one that applies to it.
